LARGE-SCALE
COMMISSIONED PAINTINGS
The heart of Gabrielle's practice. Whether abstract or representational, intimate or monumental, each painting is conceived specifically for the space it will inhabit, every facet — from scale to color to its relationship with everything around it. These are not paintings that happen to fit a room. They are paintings made for it.
MURALS
From the earliest days of her career, Gabrielle has painted walls, and the excitement has never left her. Working directly on architectural surfaces, she creates site-specific murals that become inseparable from the spaces they live in. Residential, commercial, or somewhere in between, each mural is approached with the same rigor and care as any canvas.
WALLPAPER
For spaces that call for something other than a painted wall, Gabrielle creates custom hand-painted wallpaper. This is a form of artwork that carries the unmistakable quality of something made entirely by hand. There is a beauty in handmade wallpaper that printed alternatives simply cannot replicate: the subtle variations, the texture, the sense that a human being was present in every stroke.
MULTI-PANEL AND EDITION WORK
For larger spaces or clients whose vision calls for more than a single piece of art, Gabrielle works in multi-panel compositions and cohesive editions, because scale should never be a limitation to achieving the same sense of intimacy and intentionality so valued in a well-chosen single painting.
NOTES
ON-SITE AND IN-STUDIO WORK
Gabrielle works both in her large studio which is fully equipped for ambitious, large-scale production, and on-site when the project calls for it. Some work simply has to be made in the space where it will live. As a woman who got her start in murals, she is equally at home in both.
TRAVEL AND DESTINATION PROJECTS
For the right project, Gabrielle travels. If the collaboration is exciting, traveling becomes part of the conversation.
ABOUT THE ART SUPPLIES
Gabrielle works fluently across oils, acrylics, encaustics, and an ever-expanding range of mixed media, from PaperClay to vintage maps. The material is always chosen according to the needs of the finished piece.
