Walden

An abstracted landscape that anchors the other elements in the room — not by demanding attention, but by completing the space. Its texture and tonality settle into the neutral palette of the bedroom so naturally that it feels less like a painting stuck on a wall and more like the perfect accessory to bring the outfit together.

Above and Below

36 in. x 36 in.

Encaustic and graphite on Cellulose

This piece wasn't planned as an aerial view. As layers of wax were added and the image began to surface, a perspective emerged — coastal in its coloring, expansive in its feeling. Encaustic, a blend of melted beeswax, resin and pigment has been used by artists for thousands of years. The ability to both hide and reveal simultaneously creates a level of mystery beyond any other painting material.

Field Notes III

24 in. x 48 in.

oil on canvas

Three paintings conceived as a series for the bathroom. The subject is a field of flowers — loose, energetic brushwork that gives each piece a sense of life and movement. The prominent color range is deliberately narrow, keeping that energy contained and the overall feeling restful. Together they bring lightness and warmth to the space without disturbing its calm.

The color came from his fur. The composition from the structure of his face. Beyond that, there is nothing recognizable — no cat, no portrait, no subject. Just a painting that holds its secret quietly. Mufasa is a cat, not the client's cat. He belongs to a dear friend, and this piece was made as much from affection as from paint. Only those who knew him will understand the title. Everyone else will see the colors and graceful movement inspired by the beauty of Nature.
